Are you interested? You’re in luck! The original Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit is bringing their acclaimed immersive experience to New York City this summer!

Here are 5 reasons why you can’t miss out on Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit New York City:

1. The genius behind Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit

The creator of the original Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit New York City is Italian installation artist Massimiliano Siccardi, whose work was seen by over 2 million visitors in Paris and was featured on Netflix’s ‘Emily in Paris’. Siccardi has been called “the Steven Spielberg of these immersive art installations” – and with good reason. His vision brings the works of Van Gogh to life like no other. (Although others have tried.) In 2012, Massimiliano received the prestigious International Award “Romaindanza” for his talent in the visual work of dance theatre. From 2012, he has been artist-in-residence at the Carrières de Lumières – Atelier des Lumières where he authored the mise-en-scène of numerous immersive shows.

2. The biggest immersive Van Gogh experience in the world

Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit NYC will be the biggest immersive Van Gogh experience in the world – housed in the 700,000 sq. ft. Pier 36 in Manhattan’s Lower East Side. You will be able to wander through Van Gogh’s masterpieces like The Potato Eaters (1885), Starry Night (1889), Sunflowers (1889), and many more – as they come to life around you on a monumental scale! You will experience the vibrant colors and bold brushstrokes like never before! With elements designed by David Korins (more on that later), this vast exhibit features a hand-crafted recreation of one of Vincent’s most iconic self portraits, as well as a massive chandelier recreating Starry Night, comprising of more than 7,800 paint brushes dipped in paint, and so much more!

3. The extraordinary music

Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit New York City features a sweeping soundtrack curated by Italian composer and pianist, Luca Longobardi. Longobardi also wrote original music for the immersive art installation. In his multimedia performances and recordings, strong experimental electronic music meets pure, ethereal and simple-seeming piano playing that relay deep emotions. At Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit, the visuals and music come together to create a once-in-a-lifetime experience that transports visitors – and the soundtrack is sure to stay with you even after you leave.

4. One-of-a-kind experiential elements

The original Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit New York City will not only be the largest of its kind in the world, it will also boast spectacular experiential and visual elements created by Emmy Award-winning and Tony Award-nominated designer David Korins, known for his set designs featured in numerous Broadway hits including ‘Hamilton’ and ‘Dear Evan Hansen’.

“I am thrilled to be collaborating with the creative minds behind the Immersive Van Gogh exhibit to create a truly unique experience for the city of New York to enjoy and be inspired by,” said Korins. “I have always been deeply moved when looking at Van Gogh’s paintings, which are universally beloved for their color and unique use of texture, or his transcendent ink drawings, and I’m humbled by the opportunity to develop an experience that will enhance the viewers’ time spent with his powerful art.”

One of the elements created for the original Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit NYC is the Pocket Gallery. At the exhibit, you will see physical paint smears of 5 different colors on canvases in golden frames. Through augmented reality software, the Lighthouse Immersive app will let these colors bloom into paintings – right on your phone. The app will also reveal more information about Vincent’s process, feelings about each colour and more!

At our Letters from Vincent  installation, you will also be able to write a letter to Vincent – and receive a personalized response in his hand writing and style! This is made possible through AI developed from the more than a thousand letters Vincent wrote in his lifetime. Your letter from Vincent can be downloaded/shared and printed on premises, or be saved on the Lighthouse Immersive app.

And there are even more elements you can enjoy and experience at the original Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit New York City.

5. Vincent Van Gogh: The art and the artist

Today, Vincent van Gogh is a widely admired and beloved artist. His art has a universality to it that was not appreciated while he was alive, unfortunately. The original Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit New York City aims to celebrate Van Gogh’s art and passion – paying homage to his genius.

“It creates a stream of consciousness of what would have passed before Van Gogh’s eyes before he passed away. It takes you through Van Gogh’s life,” said Corey Ross, producer of Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit.

“It is a privilege to share this new iteration of Van Gogh’s art and vision with the world – especially with younger audiences who are maybe discovering his art for the first time. Van Gogh was ahead of his time – a true visionary, and we believe he would have appreciated this celebration of his work, as well as the deep, emotional impact it has on our visitors.”
